Updated Synopsis:

Prophecies of the Skyborne: Book One – Flame of the Fallen

When the Archemedes falls, only a handful survive — among them, a battle-hardened pilot named Saurin, who crash-lands on the verdant and perilous world of Kheltan. Hunted and haunted, he becomes a reluctant castaway on a planet teeming with secrets.

Ni’Talia, a huntress of the Drin’Shoni tribe, lives by the old ways — guided by ancestral lore and wary of skyfire omens. When she finds the strange being in the wreckage, her choice to help him reignites long-dormant prophecies.

Together, they must navigate mistrust, ancient ruins, and the threat of the Dark Dwellers — bioengineered horrors long buried beneath the surface. But as visions awaken in Ni’Talia and Saurin rediscovers his humanity, a deeper truth emerges: this was no accident. The sky has chosen a new path, and the roots remember everything.

Kheltan does not forget. And the stars are watching...

The forest inhaled.

~~~!CRACK!~~~
The world shattered.
Ni’Talia froze mid-step as the silence shattered above her. A streak of molten skyfire tore across the heavens, burning a wound into the clouds. Her breath locked in her chest. Even the wind, once warm and playful, recoiled in silence.
What beast makes the sky scream?
She watched until the light vanished behind the ridgeline. Somewhere beyond, the Va’Luma’Gor’Ho’Pi’Tal — the Sky Beast of Flame — had fallen. And in its wake, the air remembered a name not spoken in generations.
A sign. An omen. A beginning.
Inside the smoking maw, she expected teeth. Tongue. The slick insides of a predator’s throat.
But there was only... space. Smooth, curved, metallic. Cold beneath her fingers.
She reached in. Slowly. Carefully.
And pulled a man from the belly of the beast.
He was not prey. Not dying. Not dead.
He was strapped into a shell. A vessel. A sky-cart forged of blackened bone and fireglass. And when he stirred, when his hand rose and unlatched the strange mask upon his face, she did not run.
She knelt beside him — hunter turned witness — and whispered the ancient word for the fallen:
“Tav’Rin.”
Rider of stars.
Sample: Translator Activation
The device in her hand buzzed, then hummed.
“...fire... sky-fall... alone...” it stammered, grasping at syntax like a newborn finding voice.
Li’Ra’Co squeaked from her shoulder, pointing frantically between the box and the stranger like an impatient teacher. She hissed back, but her fingers didn’t falter.
Tap. The chime rang out. The translator lit with pulsing glyphs. His name spilled out.
“Saurin,” she echoed, slowly.
He blinked. Then smiled. “Yes. That’s me.”
The fire between them crackled louder than before, but not because it grew. Because it now had company. Two minds, one tongue — finding balance word by broken word.
The box chirped again:
“You... are not of this land. But you have not brought war. I think this is… good.”
